Stefan Boltzmann Law

Stefan Boltzmann Law — the NEET Physics formula with its derivation, variables, validity constraints and worked solver.

Stefan-Boltzmann Law Applies to black bodies (epsilon=1) and gray bodies (constant epsilon < 1). The temperature must be absolute (Kelvin). Integrate Planck's Law over all wavelengths (0 to infinity). Integrate over the hemisphere to account for directionality. Result yields proportionality to T 4 via the integral of x 3/(e x-1)dx. Temperature T must be in Kelvin. Emissivity epsilon must be between 0 and 1. Using Celsius instead of Kelvin for temperature. Forgetting to include the surface area A (confusing total power with power density). Assuming emissivity is always 1 (neglecting it for non-black bodies).
